Just 1hr drive from Nairobi, with the Limuru Golf Club on its doorstep and the home of many expatriates close by, Tigoni house is a welcome alternative to more mainstream hotels.

The Tigoni area was initially identified and favoured by the earlier colonial settlers for its temperate climatic conditions. Located on the central highlands and within proximity to the city centre, the area is still a favorite with expatriates and other high income professionals. Our neighbours include former ambassadors, UN senior staff, corporate CEOs and heads of Development Organisations.

Bedrooms
The home style accommodation offers peace and comfort; the accommodation is spacious with en suite bathrooms for a maximum of 10 home stay guests. Open beamed ceilings, natural woodwork, log fires in the lounges and views over one of the last pockets of indigenous forest, complement the serenity and style of Tigoni house.

There house is an expansive farm house in the cool Kenyan highlands. The Tigoni area has a cool climate similar to that in the temperate regions of Europe. The house is made of brick and mortar and roofing by red earthen tiles. It is an old Elizabethan house that has been renovated to improve its appeal. The house has 4 large bedrooms and a master ensuite. The standard 4 bedrooms share 2 bathrooms while the master bedroom includes a separate one.

The Sitting and Dinning Room
The sitting room floor is made of parquet tiles and is furnished with comfortable Italian furniture. There is a large fireplace with a rough edge chimney façade. The dining area next to the kitchen and is raised from the sitting area by concrete 4 stair well. A large dining table adorns the dining area complete with comfortable seats. Meals are served at the table for all guests and the family members where we exchange daily experiences just like any other family world wide.

The dining room take on an ambiance of intimacy and the meals at Tigoni house will leave you in no doubt that you are in a private home and not a hotel. Prepared with the freshest of ingredients and with particular care being given to presentation this is simple but delicious home style cooking.

The Kitchen
We have a very large kitchen that can accommodate five people who may wish to do self catering. Most of the food is prepared by our chef and we always have meal suggestion cards. This enables us to incorporate the divergent tastes of the guests.
Provided also is a 20 cubic feet refrigerator, a 4 burner gas and electric cooker inclusive of an oven, a toaster, a microwave and all other necessary kitchen accessories.
